A Clarion Call to the Church . . . Joel 2:15-17

Clarion Call = a strong request for something to happen. . . A LOUD AND CLEAR CALL TO ACTION.

THE FIRST PART is Joel prophesying about the locust judgement of God on Israel that resulted in famine and drought because of idolatry!

THE SECOND PART of the Book of Joel is say9ing the present locust judgement is really bad . . . but . . . not as bad as God's eternal judgement!

FROM THE DIVINE VIEWPOINT, the division was a judgement on not keeping God's commands, specifically the commands prohibiting idolatry.

FROM A HUMAN VIEWPOINT, the division was the result of tribal discord and political unrest.  The principle is that sin brings division.
