The Well of Worship in Spirit and Truth

John 4:23-24

Spirit without truth leads to a shallow, overly emotional experience that could be compared to a high.  As soon as the emotion is over, when the fervor cools, the worship ends.

Truth without spirit can result in a dry, passionless encounter that can easily lead to a form of joyless legalism.

Romans 12:1

The Hebrew words translated as "praise" or "bless" have a deeper meaning than is conveyed in English.

They instruct, command, or imply the worshiper is to take specific physical action.

The Biblical model presents corporate praise as a whole group activity.

Hebrews 13:15

James 4:7-10

Choosing to engage with God will change your attitude.  God promises to reward those who choose to draw near to him.  Literally, choosing to praise God is a transformative experience it renews your mind.
